Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord by Sarah Maclean

Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord by Sarah Maclean (Love By Number #2)
Publication Date: October 26, 2010
Versions: paperback, kindle

Caution: This is the second book in this series and if you have not yet read: Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake-then this review may contain spoilers.

Summary (from goodreads):
Since being named "London's Lord to Land" by a popular ladies magazine, Nicholas St. John has been relentlessly pursued by every matrimony-minded female in the ton. So when an opportunity to escape fashionable society presents itself, he eagerly jumps-only to land in the path of the most determined, damnably delicious women he's ever met!

The daughter of a titled wastrel, Lady Isabel Townsend has too many secrets and too little money. Though she is used to taking care of herself quite handily, her father's recent passing has left Isabel at sea and in need of outside help to protect her young brother's birthright. The sinfully handsome, eminently eligible Lord Nicholas could be the very salvation she seeks.

But the lady must be wary and not do anything reckless and foolish...like falling madly, passionately in love.

I have read and reviewed Sarah Maclean's two other novels: Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake (the first book in this series) and The Season (which is more of a teen novel). They were both wonderful and Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord is just as stunning. Nicholas St. John is now known to be the most sought after bachelor after his brother, Gabriel, marries. The only problem is that Nicholas doesn't want a wife or to love any women. And he is pleased when he goes out of town-trying to find someone-but then ultimately runs into Lady Isabel. She is persistent, and strong which drives Nicholas mad. And he will do anything in his power to make Isabel want him.

This book is probably not recommended to a young audience due to it's descriptive scenes-but the characters were extraordinary with their persistence and strong attitudes. I didn't think it was possible but-Nicholas may well be the best of the two twins which made me enjoy this novel even more.

Will I reread it?
Yes, I loved this plot line, the characters and all the dialect. Sarah Maclean does a great job with all of her novels and I am pleasantly surprised with this one as well. I definitely recommend this to any historical romance fan who loves bad boys.
