Pants on Fire by Meg Cabot

Pants on Fire by Meg Cabot
Publication Date: June 24, 2008
Versions: paperback, kindle, audio

Summary (from barnesandnoble.com):
But she can't exactly tell the truth, either—not when she's juggling two boyfriends, secretly hating the high school football team everyone else worships, and trying to have the best summer ever. At least Katie has it all under control (sort of). Her biggest secret, what really happened the night Tommy Sullivan is a freak was spray-painted on the junior high gymnasium wall, is safe.

That is, until Tommy comes back to town. Katie is sure he's going to ruin all her plans, and she'll do anything to hang on to her perfect existence. Even if it means telling more lies. Even if, now that Tommy's around, she's actually—truthfully—having the time of her life.

You know what? A lot of people and bloggers go around saying that Meg Cabot is amazing this and amazing that. But I've never once picked up one of her books before this; which is pretty bad if you think about it. Becuause I love the Princess Diaries movies and should have probably read those long ago.

But the summary of Pants on Fire, dragged me to purchase it at borders one day and I'm glad I did. I love how Katie lies alot, and has two boyfriends. It was hilarious at times and very serious at times (mostly when Tommy was around). It was just an overall fun read, and I didn't feel like I've read it before, like so many other teen books. It was unique, is what I was getting at.

Will I reread it?
You know, I dont' know.

But I know one thing: I will defiantly continue my Meg Cabot reading becuase everyone was right about her being...an amazing author. This was the perfect book to get me hooked on her charming writing.

I really love Meg Cabot's 1-800-Where-R-U series, as well as her Mediator series (written under the pseudonym Jenny Carroll). I'll have to check this one out. :) Great review!

Nice review

And yeah, like Corrine says, you should totally check The 1-800 or Mediator Series, they kick butt

I think that Meg Cabot can be classified as my favorite author: I've read more of her books than any other author's, I've enjoyed them all immensely, and I own most of them. Definitely keep reading her stuff! Her stand-alones are great, but her series ROCK.

I love everything by Meg Cabot! I've read almost all of her YA books. Pants on Fire though is probably one of my least favorites.

Oh and congrats to you too for winning the grand prize in Elizabeth Scott's contest!! It was an amazing contest and you had a great entry: D

Morgan,

Thanks for your comment! Congratulations for winning first! I'll be looking for your name in her next 2011 book :)
I'm glad you got first place so you get a phone call from her too, I'm driving to New York for the Teen Author Festival cause I can't miss it lol So, I'll see Elizabeth there. I loved your cake by the way. I didn't know you could make edible paper at your own house.
Again, congrats!

I've never read Meg Cabot. Just writing it seems weird. I'll really have to give something of hers a try. I'd really like to read her Princess Diaries series. :)
